Save Money on Hot Water
You may be wasting water while you are waiting for your water
to get hot (newer kitchen sink, bathroom sink and shower head
fixtures run at a rate of 2.5 gallons per minute, a tub spout
can be up to double that amount). A home with three occupants
on average will run their water four or five times per day. Water
waste is approximately 5 gallons per day, 35 gallons per week,
and 1820 gallons per year (based on only 20 seconds of wait time).
If it takes longer for the hot water, it could greatly increase
the amount of gallons wasted. By installing a small water
pump at the point of your hot water source and also mounting
a small adapter underneath the sink, you can greatly reduce your
wait time and thus the amount of water wasted (remember, water
that goes down the drain, used or unused, effects the sewer usage
portion of your bill). This solution, while involved, holds the
best value. Contact
